SELANK care field guide A guide to care

Check · signs that need an answer

Pause when the answer is only a sales claim.

You do not have to settle an unclear claim on the spot. Keep these checks nearby when reading a page or talking through an offer.

Look past the label

FDA is the U.S. medicines agency, formally called the Food and Drug Administration.

FDA letters reviewed on September 26, 2026 said that some sellers offered products as medicines for people despite marking them “for research use only”. The label did not change what the sellers were offering.

These letters state FDA’s claims about particular businesses. They are not court decisions.

A research label leaves the care question open

Ask why a product marked for research is being discussed for your health.

A code does not answer approval

A National Drug Code is a number identifying a listed product. Having that number does not mean a product is approved, FDA said at the September 26, 2026 check.

A canceled request is not permission

A request to allow Selank as an ingredient for pharmacy-made medicines was taken back. FDA’s entry, checked September 30, 2026, still warns about possible harm.

Canceling that request did not allow pharmacies to use Selank.

A note to keep

Ask how they will work out what is wrong

State medical boards check doctors’ permission to practise.

Their shared guidance, checked September 26, 2026, says deciding on medicine requires more than a form with fixed questions. The doctor must be able to get all the needed information and ask more questions.

A form can still be part of the visit. Its questions may change with your answers, and the doctor or other licensed health professional can ask about anything missing.

This guidance is advice for states, not itself law; each state sets its own rules.

Ask who reviews the form, then ask how to explain anything its questions leave out.

Check who is responsible

Get the names

Ask who will work out what is wrong and which pharmacy makes or sends any proposed medicine.

Use a licence record

To look up a pharmacy’s state licence, follow FDA’s links; the record confirms the licence but does not prove that every product is appropriate.

Give yourself room

Keep an unresolved claim on your question list. A deadline in a sales message is not an answer.

Carry this forward

Keep going with the checks until the person, product, evidence, and payment terms are clear enough to discuss.
